Halo Illustrations
A few of my illustrations are featured in this clip from the Halo Anniversary Terminal cinematics. I had a really small role in this project- just some of the background art. Props to the team at Sequence Group!

Toy Designs
I compiled some of my images from 'How to Draw and Paint Science Fiction Art' in an effort to pitch preliminary concepts to a product manufacturer in China. These probably won't be the designs we use, but it's just some early thoughts on the project
Also playing around with the idea of taking this sketch and turning it into a series of vinyl toys!

Rendering Exercise
I'm looking to experiment with a few different rendering techniques with this image- I'll post a few variations in the coming days. I've been looking at a lot of mural art recently and really digging the visual punch some of that work has- trying to translate some of that goodness into my painting...

Weird scenes inside the goldmine...
I can't ever really be sure what Jim Morrison meant by that lyric, but I love the song, and I've always been amused by that particularly bizarre line... He probably knew what it meant, and the rest of us are just left to interpret- or simply enjoy without analysis. I like painting in that mindset- I know what this image meant to me when I created it- I considered a few titles, but spelling it out seemed to destroy it somehow- I'd sooner leave it open. The audience can decide what snail riding demons and feathered serpents mean to them... if anything

Vancouver Canucks: Cathedral Project
For the past two years I've had the opportunity to supply concept art for an ongoing project to redesign Rogers Arena in an effort to brand the space as the home of the Vancouver Canucks. Mark Raham (creative director) and Nick Tay (art director) envisioned the arena transformed into a cathedral in honor of our home team. The traditional features of a cathedral were reimagined as vibrant coloured lights, steel framed LCD monitors, large scale posters, projected images, and slick acrylic wall panels. The project aims to modernize the arena while keeping the overall essence of a cathedral and hockey at its core. The designs are the product of Nick & Mark's imaginations- i was brought on board to assist with presentation sketches. The project has largely been implemented- it's been amazing seeing the sketches come to life! It was a great project to be a part of- here is an overview of some of work:
